Summary provided by Goodreads:
The race is on to find the Rebirth paranormals.
Elijah doesn’t have feelings. He doesn’t care, nor does he empathize, until the day Audrey was found. While searching her mind telepathically, things suddenly changed for him. He never imagined that he would face all the emotions plaguing him. Now he is on a mission to find the rumored Rebirth creature. What happens when a creature never meant to feel anything suddenly becomes attached to another?
Valentine always knew there was something…different about her. While she hated even the thought of blood, she loved to help those in need. She felt an instant connection with her patients and always strived to save lives. Her adoptive sister always told her that she cared too much. That she couldn’t save everyone. And now there is a colder than ice man in her life that won’t go away, and won’t take no for an answer. The problem is, she never wanted to push him away, even though she knows he will be her downfall.
I was fortunate enough to be one of the beta readers for this new book. It hasn’t been released yet, but I strongly suggest you to add Healed to your to-read list as soon as you can because if you really liked Damaged you will love, yes, love this one for sure.
So let me tell you how much I loved this book, ok? I finished this book in just two days which could have been one, but shit life happens. The first day I read only 14 pages wanting to read more but couldn’t as I said before, but then Saturday came and I lost myself in that book until I read the epilogue and there was nothing more although I was begging my kindle to show me more.
So…the characters:
Well, Becca has created a whole new paranormal world where clans not necessarily need to be from the same species, so the paranormal list goes on and on. Nevertheless, this book focused in Elijah and Valentine.
Elijah:
As you might remember him because I certainly couldn’t erase him off my mind since the first time I read about him is a wraith who feeds on fear and other scary stuff, and he’s sent on a mission to get Valentine.
Valentine’s a new character, she’s a nurse that cannot stand the sight of blood but can heal people by just using her hands. She’s considered to be a rebirth creature even though no one really knows what kind of magical creature she is. So the action begins when Valentine’s healer secret is revealed and two clans want her: One to protect her, the other to destroy her.
In this book we also explore a little bit more about paranormal beliefs, and where most creatures came from in general (which I considered it was a really nice touch to the story because I think I’ve just read about Weres and Vampires’ beginnings). In conclusion, if you thought that Damaged has twists and turns with likable characters and a little bit of action… this one will blow your mind because it has so much more.
