Summary via Goodreads: “After being enslaved on the spaceship Extarga for most of her life Analia has no memory of her life before, and has lost all knowledge of her people. Her mysterious gift and pointed ears are the only indication that she is different.
Analia is alone, and for all she knows, shes the last of her kind. By chance Analia escapes her captors, and hides herself on the merchant ship Marada, planning to get off at the very next stop.
Unfortunately for her, there is no next stop. The crew is planning a delivery that could take months, and according to a stipulation in the newly signed contract, no one is allowed on or off the ship until the package is delivered.
When Analia is found by a handsome demon, and captain of the Marada, she must adapt to her new role on the ship, and try to control her newly awakened desire for the brutal, and devastatingly erotic demon.”
My Review ( I gave this a 4 out of 5 stars):
Kay so i am going to complain about my stupid decision to pick songs, oh wait no i am not because i found the perfect, well sort of perfect song on my way home from school today, BWHAHAHA alright so the song choice is in relation to the relationship between our MCs – “Precious” by Depeche Mode amazing song by the way.
Alright first thoughts: (look at my jumping right into this) alright anyways! So there was just so much right about this book! I was a little iffy starting it because the summary made me automatically think, okay this is going to be mostly an erotic, like sex book, nah! it tricks ya! This isn’t that its a story! OH EXCITING I KNOW it has a plot and falling in love, and and yeah it was pretty awesome. Though i will admit, and i think really it was just me, i started to lose steam around 70% i think it was mostly because i as taking a step back from it and i was wondering, okay these cats are STUCK on this ship how is there going to be any outside conflict at this point? Well don’t worry there is. And oh it stays awesome til the end. Alright so let me tell you more about the plot
Plot: It was very interesting, it was a mixture of an adventure, of recovery, of love, yup. So there is a lot of stuff going on this book, and i love it! Like i mentioned before i was a little worried thinking this was going to be a mostly sex based book and look i don’t mind sex, i don’t, promise! but when the book becomes more sex than plot i was want to walk away, well this book wasn’t like that, yes there was sex, and yeah it was pretty alright, but there was more to this book and i LOVED THAT. There was so much more to it than i thought and then i started to get worried while i was reading it that there just wasn’t going to be enough action for me because everyone is stuck on the ship for blah blah amount of time, and i was like ugh okay? Well there was, and there was a lot of character development in this time that i loved. YAY YAY YAY A lot of the action, action like BAM! SPLAT! BOOM! action is near the end yeah but there is mystery, and just awesomeness. Though i will admit some things were too quickly resolved for my likings. i appreciate that there wasn’t going to be love triangle, really i am but it started strongly then just was like nah. And i was like oh… disappointment!
So on to the characters!
Analia (Anya): I WAS BEYOND PLEASED with how the author handled this character. BEYOND PLEASED Like you have no idea! Anya has been a slave for over 200 years, she doesn’t really remember her life before it, and she has nothing to hold onto while being tortured all these years. So as i have seen more times than i like characters like this automatically freed become these like kickass, or alright i will fall into a bed with you when i look into your eyes love interest its not like i have been tortured by a man my entire life or anything. i am so giddy about this its kinda sad, anyways so my being giddy that the character actually has fear and acts like i would think a character in her position would act. It takes time for her to fully be comfortable but she is also a really sweet girl and i am glad that she isn’t hard and cold after everything that she went through, yeah i think someone could argue with me that isn’t a normal reaction after what she went through, well i like to think she held onto the hope that she would be free one day, and she is! SHE IS FREE and she is happy-ish but she doesn’t so easily forget her past, she has those quirks, anyways i love that she grows and does in her own right become this kickass character. She was amazing i loved her!
Okay i would like to mention Anya did bother me at some points because it was far into their relationship she still had this doubts and i get it i understand but at the same time i don’t like it when you sit there and tell me you are not worthy when you totally are
Sebastian (Bastian): Is our main man. Demon, and because i am strange i was really excited but this! Usually i get really touchy about aliens that are called something that we have here on paranormal Earth as i will call it for this review…this time i allowed it because they have their own world, and somewhat different rules than the demons on paranormal earth so i am overlooking it but mostly because i love demons and we just don’t have enough books about them! As the somewhat good guy that is. Alright i still stop ranting about that and tell you more about his character. Well he is stubborn beyond belief, stupid….stupid men! Jeez just get over yourself! Anyways i liked him, as i like most of my men: possessive, dangerously hot, and just dangerous. Hahaha! alright well i understand his caution, and i can see that by his actions he is a good guy, and he loves fully with all his heart and soul, and you gotta love that about a guy!
I haven’t done this in awhile but the other characters: A+++ i liked them they were separate from each other, no mixing of personalities and i already looked at the second book and i know that it changes MCs but is sticking with the continuous plot line i am kinda of excited to read about one of the other character’s story! I like these characters really did!
Alright the ending i sort of just gave it away up there in the other character thing, but yes i have looked and saw that there are quite a few more in this series, does it have a cliffhangering ending? um not really, i think that if you wanted to read this one but not start a series you’d be able to squish your curiosity about certain characters and read it as a standalone but there is a continuous plot and as for me? Well yeah i will probably read the second one ,when i get to it i don’t know. i have other series i am in the middle of, school finals coming up, i can wait honestly.
